Book – Street Child World Cup

I was honoured to be involved in this project – creating a 60 page book documenting the experiences of the 253 children from 20 countries who participated in the 2014 Street Child World Cup in Rio, Brazil. Each child was given a copy to take home with them, which meant it had to be designed and printed in less than a week. Editorial assistance by Jo Wroe. Challenge:

Creating a book that represented an event as it happened. The book was to be given to the street children who attended the event, so that meant designing, photographing, editing and printing at speed.

Solution:

The book was designed before the event to enable as much to be done once the photographs had been taken. Former street children ("ambassadors") were included in the editorial process to ensure the book represented them.
